An awesome looking board that's made incredibly well with the finest hardwoods. The purple heart is strikingly vibrant and contrasts well with the curly maple. Each square is separated with an inlay of ebony that has been carefully and perfectly placed. This luxury chessboard has four tiers giving it extreme depth with four corner blocks of ebony. I finished the board in semi gloss lacquer and wet sanded. The board measures 22 inches square with 2 and a quarter inch squares and weighs 18 pounds. This board is absolutely gorgeous and priced to sell. Luxury boards like this price in the low thousands but fortunately I'm not greedy.

This chessboard is truly unique as are all of Joseph's creations. I especially admire the ebony strips around each square and the alternating purple heart and curly maple inserts which make up an immediate outer border to the squares. Purple heart wood provides a very refreshing look for chess board dark squares as it is so vibrant and I think that an ebony color for dark chess men brings this out the best. What a wonderful chessboard! I'm very, very proud to be able to call it mine! Thank you, Joseph!
